Extended biography

I was born in Pretoria, South Africa and grew up in a town called Middelburg in the region Mpumalanga. I am living in Milan, Italy where I am working as an artist and English teacher. I obtained a degree in Fine Arts in 2006 from the University of Pretoria and a master’s degree in Visual Arts and Curatorial studies at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arte (NABA) in Milan, Italy. 

My art practice is multi-disciplinary and I am particularly interested storytelling and play.  The idea of constructing a narrative you can find even in my earlier work.  I like to collaborate with kindred spirits.

I also work with Isola Art Center, an experimental platform for contemporary art. With Isola Art Center, I have done exhibitions in Rome, Riga, Oslo, Ljubljana and many other places.  

Currently I am writing and illustrating a story book called The Vertical Jungle, a story based on the story of the struggles of the particular neighbourhood of Isola Art Center .
